We are pleased to provide complimentary Notary Public services for our clients as time permits. If you have documents that need the seal of a Notary Public, we may be available to witness your signature here in our office and sign / stamp / seal the document. Every employee in our office is either a lawyer and/or a Maine Notary Public, so during working hours, someone is generally available to witness a signature if you need it. Please phone us first to coordinate a time.
It is important that you understand the terms of the document you are signing. We will not be able to give you advice on this document.
We may ask you to provide photo ID. It is our duty to confirm that the person signing the document is the one named on it.
It is also important that you do not sign the document before you arrive. The role of the Notary Public is to make sure that the proper person signed the document and was under no undue influence at the time of signing; if you sign the document beforehand, the Notary cannot complete the task.
We are not a financial institution, therefore we do not have the capacity to provide a Medallion Signature Guarantee.
